This is a collection of recordings made in a variety of young and secondary rainforests on the border between Congo and Gabon. These forests had been affected by extensive logging and therefore featured many clearings where wildlife congregated.
Contrary to my expectations, these young forests sported a great deal of diversity. I could hear a lot more bird species calling than in the more remote rainforests, but this was also caused by the differences in tree density. Nevertheless, I loved spending time in these areas.
The recordings feature lush dawn choruses, lively daytime birdsong, busy dusk choruses, loud insects etc. The sound is definitely more open and bright than on the other two albums in the African Jungle series, but no less interesting.
Offered as uncompressed wav files for personal use. Get in touch with me if you need to license any of these recordings for commercial use: mindful-audio.com/contact
